We love Facebook’s new Timeline feature. Why? Because the large banner image is a GREAT place to showcase fabulous photos of your favorite pet! We decided to put together some banner images for our clients and whoever else loves pets. We combined some incredible vintage pet photos with stirring quotes to create something that we think is truly beautiful.

Is Internet Start-Up Dog Vacay a New Alternative to Boarding?

Lots of our clients board their cats or dogs at our veterinary offices when they need to travel out of town for work or vacation. In fact, we fill up quickly before major holidays, spring break, and other popular travel times. If your local veterinary office or favorite boarder is full, you may now have another alternative to housing your pet.

A new start-up called Dog Vacay, which is sort of like an AirBnB for dogs, says that they will help pet owners find a real house for their pet to stay in while their away.

Although we love for our clients to have as many great options as possible in finding comfortable accommodations for their pets, we’re a bit leery of this one. It just seems odd to leave your pet with a total stranger who may not be trained in handling any medical or health issues that could come up while your away. Even though Dog Vacay says that it offers security for your dog by providing insurance, photographs of your pet, and customer support, this makes us nervous. We would still rather see our patients stay with a trusted friend, family member, or veterinarian.
